Gala dinner

19:30 – 22:00 / 22 October 2025   Casa do Alentejo

(by invitation)

Casa do Alentejo, R. das Portas de Santo Antão 58, 1150-268 Lisboa

About the Venue: From Noble digs to a Gambler's Paradise

Casa do Alentejo has a history as rich as its décor, and it has worn many hats over the centuries. It started its life as a 17th-century noble residence, where aristocrats likely sipped port and debated the merits of powdered wigs. But in a plot twist worthy of a soap opera, the place was reborn in 1917 as Lisbon's very first casino, the Magestic Club. For a brief, glorious period, it was a hotspot for high-stakes drama, becoming the place where fortunes were made and lost at the turn of a card.

Where Miners Strike it Rich (or at least, we hope so)

They say mining is a risky business, and they're not wrong. It takes decades of grit, determination, and a bit of a crystal ball to turn a geological blip into a successful mine. It's a game of foresight and luck.

Casa do Alentejo, with its storied past as Lisbon's first casino, has seen its fair share of risks and rewards. The walls of the Magestic Club have witnessed plenty of high rollers, the sighs of defeat, and the cheers of victory during Portugal's golden age.

We're hoping that some of that good luck gold dust is still clinging to the Moorish-inspired walls and will rub off on us all. Let's hope it brings us new connections and opportunities here in Portugal. After all, a little bit of casino charm can't hurt when you're in the mining game.
