Alvaro brings ten years of experience in the extractives sector, specialising in corporate sustainability strategy and management of license to operate risks. At ERM, he has supported global mining companies in strengthening their ESG and social performance frameworks, aligning them with international standards and best practices. Prior to joining ERM, Alvaro held advisory roles in the Government of Colombia, supporting the Deputy Minister of Energy and Mining, and worked as a consultant at CRU in London, where he focused on energy policy and market analysis. Alvaro holds a MSc in Development Management from the London School of Economics and a MSc in International Affairs and Political Studies from Universidad del Rosario.
