Multidisciplinary mining engineer and environmental scientist with over 30 years of international experience spanning mining project development, tailings and water engineering, and environmental compliance. Arturo has held senior technical and executive roles with operators (Sandfire), OEMs (Metso, Outotec), and global consultancies (SLR, Golder, Knight Piésold), delivering high-impact assignments across Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Central Asia—including Kazakhstan. He has led technical due diligence reviews for investors and operators, including TSF design assessments, compliance audits, and risk evaluations for Kazakh assets. He has also supported filtered tailings system deployment throughout the EURASIA region and directed permitting and environmental programs in cross-border settings. Arturo currently leads global tailings and mine waste advisory for SLR, with deep expertise in GISTM implementation, governance, and Independent Review Board (ITRB) engagement.
