On 21 October I accompanied HM Ambassador, Lisa Bandari, to MINEX Europe 2025 in Lisbon, where she addressed one of the keynotes during the opening session.
“The energy transition is a shared challenge, and it demands shared solutions. The UK stands ready to collaborate with Portugal, the EU, and our international partners to build resilient, transparent, and sustainable supply chains for the materials that power our future.”, Lisa Bandari said.
Other welcome addresses were delivered by Arthur Poliakov, Executive Chairman of the MINEX – Mining and Exploration Forum, Joaquim Nunes de Almeida of the European Commission, João Rui Ferreira, Portuguese Secretary of State for Economy, and Martin Pittuck of SRK Consulting UK.
In the evening HM Ambassador hosted a reception at the Residence organised by the Department for Business and Trade at the British Embassy Lisbon to promote the networking between UK companies attending MINEX Europe 2025 and relevant Portuguese players.
